Course Overview
Joining the Indian Army as an officer through the Officers’ Training Academy requires more than clearing the written examination. It demands strong English, wide general awareness, physical fitness, clear communication and the officer-like qualities assessed at the SSB.
The OGC–Dehradun Defence Academy OTA Coaching Course brings these areas together in one structured programme for graduates and final-year students. Because the OTA written exam has no Mathematics paper, the course gives more time to English, General Knowledge and SSB preparation.

Written preparation covers the complete OTA syllabus in English and General Knowledge. Classes are supported by customised study material, previous year question papers, daily practice papers, free e-books and handbooks. Weekly tests and full-length mock tests in the real exam format help students track progress and improve speed and accuracy.
SSB preparation runs alongside the written course instead of being left for after the result. Students practise PPDT, WAT, TAT, SRT, group discussions, lecturettes, GTO tasks and mock interviews. The SSB panel includes Colonel Anupam (Retd.), trained GTO; Colonel S. Pande (Retd.), SSB Interviewing Officer; Colonel I. P. S. Rana (Retd.), Psychology; and Shashi Shekhar, Ex-Assistant Commandant and two-time SSB qualifier. Practical training is supported by a dedicated GTO ground and regular individual feedback.
The programme includes supervised physical training under ACE-certified trainers, with indoor and outdoor sports facilities to build stamina, strength and discipline. Special lectures on communication skills and personality development strengthen confidence and self-expression.
Every enrolled student gets free access to the Crack Defence Exams e-learning app, worth ₹19,999, with recorded lectures, mock tests and study resources. A library, Wi-Fi and dedicated doubt-clearing sessions support focused self-study. By combining written preparation, SSB training, fitness and personal development, the course gives CDS aspirants a complete path from the written exam to final merit.
