Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR) Entry

The minimum age of the candidates should be 17 years to apply for SSR entry, and the maximum age should be 20 years.
The candidates must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects along with any one of these subjects (Chemistry, Biology or Computer Science).
The candidates selected in the SSR group will be responsible for handling different roles in ships such as aircraft carriers, replenishment ships, guided-missile destroyers & frigates, submarines & aircraft. Moreover, they have to work with different types of equipment like the firing of weapons, rockets, sonars & missiles.
Matric Recruit (MR) Entry

The minimum age of the candidates should be 17 years, and the maximum age should be 20 years.
The candidates should have cleared the 10th examination from a recognized Board.
The candidates selected for Matric Entry in the Indian Navy are given jobs in any of these three departments- chef, steward, and sanitary hygienist.
Matric Recruit (Musician)

The minimum age of the candidates should be 17 years, and the maximum age should be 25 years.
The candidates should have cleared the 10th examination from a recognized Board. Along with this, the candidates also should have proficiency in western notation, aural aptitude and basic knowledge in the theory of music.
The candidates should also have practical skills on any western, classical, or wind/percussion instrument.
The primary role of the candidates selected in Matric Recruit (Musician) is to play musical instruments being a part of the naval band in ceremonial parades and other official occasions.

Sports Entry
The candidates must have a post-graduation degree or B.E./B.Tech degree in any discipline from a recognized University or institute. However, the candidates holding a diploma in sports coaching from the National Institute of Sports & M.Sc in Sports (coaching) will get preference for selection in sports entry on sailor posts in the Indian Navy.
The candidates selected through sports entry at sailor posts will be responsible for serving physical training to officers in different departments.
Sports entry candidates will also be responsible for looking after the naval sport management.
Candidates who are preparing for sailor sports entry, they must also have participated in any senior-level national.

Written Examination Pattern for Sailor Entry

Matric Recruits

There will be four sections the question paper- English, Science, Mathematics, and General Knowledge.
The mode of question paper will be of Multiple Choice Questions.
The candidates will get 1 hour, i.e. 60 minutes to complete the question paper.
The question paper will be available both in Hindi and English (except the English section).
