Educational Qualification : Candidates must have completed their graduation in any discipline from any recognised institute.
****Candidates who are in their final year/ semester Degree can apply for join Indian Military Academy through CDS exam.
Age Limit : 19 – 24 Years
Marital Status : Unmarried Male
Citizenship :
1) A Citizen of India,
2) A subject of Bhutan or Nepal
3) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1962 intending to permanently settle in India,
4) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India.

*****Candidates under 2, 3, 4, and 5 must be certificated or proof issued by the Indian Government in favor of their statement.
*****Candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal are not required to show any kind of certificate of CDS eligibility.
Selection Process : It has two steps. First is the written exam and second is the SSB interview.

****All questions in the CDS exam are objective. Each carry 1 mark and 0.33 marks will be deducted for the wrong answer.
Interview/ Personality Test : The SSB procedure consists of two stages, candidates who clear stage I are permitted to appear for Stage II.
Stage first comprises Officers Intelligence Rating tests are Picture Perception Description Test and conducted on the first day. The candidates will be shortlisted based on combination of performance in OIR Test and PPDT. Second stage consists of Interview, Group Testing Officers Tasks, Psychology Tests and the conference. These tests are conducted over 4 days.
Medical Examination: A Candidate recommended by the Services Selection Board will undergo a medical examination by a Board of Service Medical Officers. Only those candidates will be admitted to the Academy who are declared fit by the Medical Board.
